Free Shipping

Decor Outdoor offers free regular shipping on all orders shipped to residential or commercial addresses within the contiguous United States. Orders are delivered Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Drop Shipping

We are an online-only luxury furniture and lighting boutique, and do not have a warehouse. Consequently, all orders are drop shipped directly from our manufacturers to your door. If your order includes items from more than one manufacturer, you will receive multiple deliveries. Because we are dependent on the on-hand inventory of our manufacturing partners, some items listed on our site may not actually be available right away. Please call us at 888.784.4644 or via our contact form with any stocking questions and we'll get in touch with the appropriate manufacturer for answers, before you place your order.

Ground Shipping

Small parcel items ship regular ground via delivery services such as FedEx, UPS or DHL. Orders typically take 2-3 business days to process and in-stock items will usually be delivered 3-5 days from the date that they ship (depending on origin and destination). If there is a delay, you will be notified by email. No signature is required for standard ground shipping, so you may want to make arrangements to have packages brought inside soon after delivery, if you are unable to receive it in person.

We speak a lot about the importance of gut health—not only for beauty—but also in terms of our overall health, wellbeing and immunity. But before we can fully understand why the gut is so integral to our health, it’s first essential to learn more about the physiology of the gut itself—and how it works.

Description

Depending on what else is in your order. overweight/oversize shipping may apply when ordering pumice if other substrates in your order take you over 10 litres total. I’ll pack carefully to try and avoid extra shipping. and will be in touch if extra shipping does apply. I won’t incur extra charges without your okay.

If you want to create your own custom DIY potting mix for your plants. or just want to amend your existing potting mix to improve aeration and drainage. this super chunky grade of Pumice from Bio Leaf might be just what the plant doctor ordered. This grade of Pumice is BIG! From 1cm to 2cm chunks. Being a natural product there will be a variety in sizes and shapes. This is the same grade of Pumice you’ll see used in Bio Leaf’s larger grade custom potting blends.

Why add pumice to potting mix?

Pumice is natural. volcanic rock. ready to use straight from the earth. Because it keeps its shape even when soaked in water. adding pumice to your potting mix keeps soil loose and stops soil compacting

It adds aeration and improves drainagekeeping water moving to help prevent the substrate (and your plants) becoming waterlogged. reducing the risk of root rot. Although it’s a type of rock. it can hold water thanks to being naturally porous. It holds water roughly twice as long as bark. and releases moisture slowly and steadily for roots.

Pumice is heavier than other substrates used for the same purpose (like perlite). so you won’t get a white soil surface over time (as perlite has a habit of floating to the surface when you water). and won’t lose it over the edge when you water.

How much of my mix should be pumice?

Pumice is a great soil amendment added to make your own custom soil mix. or can be used by itself. It is added to increase drainage. add aeration. and prevent soil compacting when wet.

You’ll see a difference by adding as little as 10% pumice to your indoor plant soil mix. For succulents up to 50% pumice and half potting soil is popular. Cacti and euphorbia increase to around 60% pumice and 40% potting soil. A trick for cuttings that easily rot is to start them off in 100% pumice.

Remember to fertilise as pumice doesn’t provide all the essential nutrients plants need.
